GOZZILLA ARRIVES IN THE WATERS OF PYRAEUS WITH A NEW PROJECT BY R-EV.

With the contribution of the Italian Cultural Institute of Athens and in collaboration with Polyeco Contemporary Art Initiative, the Greek residency of the five young Italian playwrights Ciro Burzo, Marina Cioppa, Carlo Geltrude, Chiarastella Sorrentino and Leonardo Tomasi took place from October 31st to November 7th.

Guided by Mario Gelardi and hosted inside the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, the group had the opportunity to explore the territory, visiting the Acropolis, and to discover the work of the visual artist Maro Michalakakos, through the vision of the works exhibited at the Kalfayan Galleries and a meeting with the artist herself.

These creative stimuli then flowed into work on #GozzillaProject – a new project within the R-Evolution Project – theatre practice in response to emerging social challenges beyond the South – of which a study combining Italian, English and Greek was presented.
