R-Ev 23-24 opens with two virtual meetings in which the selected participants and the tutors had the chance to meet for the first time.

In anticipation of the first residency, which will take place in Tunis from September 11th to 21st, the participating artists got to know each other from a distance during two meetings, held on July 24th and August 4th, to discuss the future development of the project and the different connotations of this edition’s main theme “To create is to resist; to resist is to create”.

The young creatives confronted each other on how resistance is a necessary engine in these difficult times marked by climate change, various conflicts, a global economic slowdown, hardships caused by the decisions of some local governments, as well as the importance of preserving a collective memory in all of this. They also found differences and similarities between their views and artistic work.
